Floyde

Name: Floyde
Sex: Male
Age: Approx 8
House trained: Yes
Colour: White with black markings
Area: Uxbridge, Middlesex

Floyde is looking for a new home to retire in. He requires a small space on your sofa but a big space in your heart. Floyde has a wonderful character which wins over everyone.

He is house trained and crate trained. At night he sleeps in his crate without making a sound. He is good indoors and doesn't chew anything. He travels well in the car, he simply curls up and goes to sleep on the back seat. Floyde is great on the lead apart from the usual male sniffing.

Floyde is good with all dogs he meets outside but he is not happy with sharing his home. He has never lived with cats or small animals. Floyde must be rehomed as an only dog with no other animals in the home.

Floyde never barks unless there is a knock at the door. He likes to sleep and must have time to rest and sleep due to his age. He is still a very active dog who enjoys going for a walk and playing with a ball.

Floydes does have some health issues that need to be thought about before you consider offering this wonderful boy a forever home. Floyde has been seen by a vet and the vet has noticed that he has a slight heart murmur but there is no evidence of heart failure. However this does mean that Floyde could require medication at some point in time to assist his heart.

He also has cataracts and suspected Endothelial Dystrophy in the left cornea. The Endothelial Dystrophy is in its early stage and does not require any treatment at present. Please read up on this eye disease before offering Floyde a home. Floyde does have problems with his vision at present, it is more impaired at night time but once he knows the lay out of your home or walking route he doesn't seem to have any issues at all. I must stress now that Floyde is not blind but his vision is impaired, you will not notice this at all during the day or in good lighted rooms. He still happily plays with a ball and you will notice that he uses his sense of smell to search for the ball as well as his sight.
Floyde loves human company but due to his age and health he must not be rehomed with children. Floyde would need to have all your love and attention as he really does deserve it. He is currently fed 3 times a day on Butchers or Chappie with a dry mixer.

If you feel you can offer Floyde a forever home, please complete an application form and then contact Joan Kenway on 01256 861 227 two days after your form has been sent.
